Emma Hinkson
Emma Hinkson is an existential, relational and embodied psychotherapist. She holds a Postgraduate Diploma in Existential Psychotherapy and Counselling and is currently completing her Master’s degree..
From Emma:
Emma works with people who feel that something in their life no longer fits in the way it once did. Often, individuals come to therapy feeling stuck, disconnected, or unsure of who they are becoming, particularly in relation to themselves, their relationships, or their sense of meaning in the world. Life may appear manageable on the outside, while internally there is confusion, unease, or a loss of direction.
Her work is collaborative and grounded in existential, humanistic and phenomenological philosophies, with an embodied and relational focus. Rather than offering a one-size-fits-all approach or rushing to solutions, Emma provides a thoughtful space to explore lived experience emotionally, relationally and in the body, supporting clients to make sense of their world and develop ways of being that feel more authentic and aligned with their needs.
Emma has over a decade of experience working within the NHS, initially as a community nurse and later as a psychotherapist. This background informs a grounded and compassionate approach to complex emotional and relational experiences. She has particular interests in working with anxiety, low mood, long-term and life-limiting health conditions, bereavement, sexuality, spirituality, and questions of identity and meaning.
Emma works in accordance with the BACP Ethical Framework and holds professional, personal and civil indemnity insurance.
