Ros Powell
Ros is a BACP-registered integrative counsellor working with individual adults.
From Ros:
I’m an open and approachable counsellor offering a warm, calm space in which you can explore difficult feelings and issues without judgement, and at your own pace.
My integrative training means that I draw upon different approaches to counselling, which can be adapted to your needs. My priority when we meet will be to build trust, and I’ll be led by you in terms of the areas in life you’d like to look at. It might be helpful, for example, to explore how your early experiences or past relationships could be impacting those in the present. We may also focus on a specific and current problem or challenge, fear or dilemma. Talking things through in a collaborative, down-to-earth and empathic way can help bring clarity, acceptance and change.
My natural interest in people has led me to a lifetime of listening. My other career as a writer and published author has brought me into contact with people from all kinds of backgrounds and professions which, I believe, has enriched my perspective and life experience, making me a more effective and broad-minded counsellor.
Outside of my private practice, I work with people coming to a bereavement charity and with young people in a sixth-form college. I also have specialist experience in adoption and infertility issues, and am currently continuing my training in somatic-informed counselling, focusing on the connection between mind and body.
I offer both short (6-12 sessions) and longer-term, or ‘open-ended’ counselling, depending on your needs. Our initial, 50-minute session is offered at a reduced rate of £45. In this session you can tell me a bit about what has brought you to therapy, and to ask any questions about the way I work. It’s also a chance for us to consider whether we’re the right fit to work together, and for me to think about whether I'm the best person to support you.
Further sessions £65
