The saying life is hard, really is true sometimes! We also have beautifully complicated brains and emotions which can be hard to navigate. Lots of us find ourselves needing a bit of support at different times of our lives however starting therapy can feel daunting. The therapeutic relationship is at the core of therapy so the relationship we build is key in creating safety. As a psychologist I have been trained to work with children and adults and have worked in the NHS for over ten years in a range of services. I am particularly interested in and have specialised in working with people who have had experiences of trauma and think our experiences and relationships shape how we view our selves, the world and others. Many clients I work with are also neurodiverse and I work in a neuroaffirming way.

I would describe myself as an integrative psychologist and draw from a range of therapeutic models including, Acceptance and Commitment therapy, Compassion Focussed Therapy and EMDR. I also draw on attachment and systemic ideas to help make sense of people’s experiences.  Sessions can be more or less structured depending on what works for you, and I regularly check in with clients to ensure that sessions are feeling helpful. I understand that we all come with our own unique stories, so creating a space that feels right for you is the most important thing.

In order to see if we might be a good fit for each other, I offer a free 20 minute call where you can ask any questions you may have. After that, sessions will be 50 minutes and can be weekly or fortnightly. I offer in person sessions on a Monday afternoon.
